Certified Nurse Midwife

Midwife

Provides care to women and their families throughout their lifespan.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Performs procedures within the scope of midwifery practice as defined by the American College of Nurse Midwives and outlined in the practice guidelines.
• Performs assessments of physical, psychosocial and educational needs.
• Provides diagnosis and order appropriate treatment and medication.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications:

Minimum:

• Graduate of Nurse Midwife Program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME)
• Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• Certification from American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB)
• Current PA Midwifery license with prescriptive authority

Preferred:

• 1-3 years' midwifery experience

Additional Employment Requirements:

• Current PA driver's license
• CPR American Heart Association
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
