Job Summary Category: Full time (40+ hours per week) FLSA Status: Exempt Pay: Starting $56,160 – $62,400 DOE Schedule: Flexibility in days/shifts is required as shelter services operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Participation in on‑call rotation is required. The Sanctuary Manager oversees operational activities at Colleen’s Sanctuary to provide shelter and support for individuals affected by domestic or sexual violence. As a member of the leadership team, the Manager collaborates with the Program Director and is responsible for evaluating and implementing programs that align with the organization’s mission and client needs. The role also mentors and trains Resident Advocates, ensuring shelter services follow trauma‑informed practices and adhere to a survivor‑empowerment model. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Provide oversight and program supervision to ensure DHHS licensing requirements, critical incident reporting, and established policies and procedures are followed. Follow and enforce SVS policies and procedures and client‑centered trauma‑informed best practices service model. Manage day‑to‑day operations of Colleen’s Sanctuary and direct supervision of all staff. Monitor completion of all documentation related to shelter services, including resident intake meetings, case management, exit interviews, and exit surveys. Review client files for accuracy and compliance with DHHS/FVPSA, VOCA/VAWA, and other contract requirements. Participate in program on‑call responsibilities and be available to staff for assistance with problem situations. Support community outreach, meetings, and events such as those organized by the local Domestic Violence Coalition. Collaborate with community partners, including housing programs, homeless shelters, domestic violence programs, police departments, and other agencies that provide resources for survivors. Conduct weekly Sanctuary and Residential meetings. Assist Resident Advocates on the floor and provide shelter shift coverage as needed. Assist with resident extensions with the Case Workers. Assist in required funding and licensing reports. Assist in safe operation and maintenance of the Shelter facility and report needed repairs or maintenance to the Program Director. Oversee training for Resident Advocates to ensure best practices and procedures are utilized and that all RAs meet licensing requirements. Set data‑informed goals and monitor progress toward goal achievement in partnership with the Program Director. Purchase shelter supplies. Demonstrate support for SVS’s strategic imperative of being part of a 360‑degree, trauma‑informed organization. Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with residents, staff, volunteers, donors, and vendors. Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of all client information. Perform CPR and administer First Aid as needed. Other Duties & Responsibilities Attend all required meetings and complete all required training. Maintain professional boundaries with residents and staff. Perform miscellaneous duties to comply with sanitation, safety, health, and licensing regulations. Complete other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills Minimum two years of work‑related experience in a human services environment, preferably in a domestic violence shelter or victim services. Ability to lead others, motivate, delegate responsibility, supervise, and train/coach. Clear and concise communication skills, verbal and written English. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Strong knowledge of community resources. Demonstrated crisis intervention and de‑escalation skills. Required After Hire Achieve and maintain eligible status on Direct Access Clearance System (DACS) criminal background check. Obtain First Aid and CPR certification within first 30 days and recertify every two years. Maintain approved driver status (current driver’s license with acceptable record). Complete 40 hours of core advocacy training with the Utah Domestic Violence Coalition within first six months of employment. Obtain State of Utah Case Manager certification within first six months of employment. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in social services administration, criminal justice, or a related field. Knowledge of domestic violence and sexual assault laws, protective orders, stalking injunctions, U‑visa process, and other immigration matters. Bilingual English/Spanish fluency. Working Conditions & Physical Demands The work environment involves desk‑based duties such as answering phones and entering data, as well as interacting with residents on the shelter floor. Staff may move around outside the shelter for perimeter and safety checks. Activities include cleaning and sanitizing resident rooms, restocking supplies, sweeping, mopping, dusting, changing bed sheets, washing linens, and sanitizing bathrooms. Responsibilities require lifting and moving items for cleaning and stocking and working outdoors in various weather conditions. This position may allow for remote work one day a week, subject to approval by the Program Director. Equipment Used Basic office equipment such as telephone, computer, scanner, copier, and camera security system.
