Position: Sonographer – Maternal Fetal Medicine $$SN$$
Location: Abilene, Texas
Shift: Days – Monday-Thursday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM), Friday (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
Duration: 13 weeks

Job Duties

• Perform advanced maternal-fetal ultrasound examinations for high-risk pregnancies under physician supervision.

• Perform Level II fetal anatomy scans for singleton and multiple pregnancies.

• Perform fetal echocardiograms, nuchal translucency, and first-trimester screening studies.

• Perform biophysical profiles (BPP), growth scans, and fetal growth assessments.

• Perform MCA, umbilical vein Doppler, and cervical length evaluations.

• Provide ultrasound guidance for invasive procedures such as amniocentesis.

• Acquire high-quality diagnostic images according to departmental protocols and standards.

• Recognize normal and abnormal sonographic findings and communicate relevant observations to the supervising physician.

• Review patient charts, medical history, laboratory results, and prior reports to support appropriate imaging and patient care.

• Prepare images and completed exams for physician review and documentation.

• Ensure patient safety, privacy, comfort, and proper positioning throughout examinations.

• Explain procedures to patients and provide compassionate care to patients experiencing high-risk or complex pregnancies.

• Operate, clean, maintain, and monitor ultrasound equipment for safety and reliability.

• Collaborate with maternal-fetal medicine physicians, sonographers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

• Participate in quality assurance, continuous quality improvement, case reviews, and educational activities.

• Complete required documentation, logs, paperwork, and exam charges accurately.

• Follow HIPAA, infection control, hospital, departmental, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED

• Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program

• ARDMS certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN)

• BLS certification required

• Minimum 1 year of high-risk obstetric ultrasound experience in a hospital or Maternal-Fetal Medicine setting

• Strong maternal-fetal imaging skills

• Experience with advanced obstetric ultrasound procedures preferred
