Job Description Advanced Practice Provider (APP) – Full‑time Instructor rank. This role conducts in‑depth review of medical records prior to patient visits, performs thorough patient and family interviews to develop comprehensive medical histories, and conducts initial and periodic physical examinations. The APP correlates subjective and objective data to establish working diagnoses, formulates and executes treatment plans, orders appropriate studies, and writes orders for medication changes. They educate patients and families about disease processes and treatment options, review final diagnostic results, create short‑term and long‑term treatment goals, and arrange follow‑up visits, labs, imaging, procedures, and referrals subject to review and approval by a counter‑signing attending physician. Results and plans are communicated to patients, and the chart is updated with incoming data. Responsibilities Clinical – 95%: review medical records, perform interviews and examinations, diagnose, treat, order studies, educate, review results, set goals, write orders, and arrange follow‑ups. Administrative – 5%: assist with physician tasking messages, manage outpatient phone calls, and support research patient paperwork. Academic duties: teach, conduct service, research, academic advising, and represent the university on committees. Qualifications Master’s, Medical degree, or equivalent with advanced practice registered nurse academic degree. Certification as required by Florida Statutes 464 and Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 64. Board certified or eligible in Family Practice. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Instructor.
