A successful candidate will be creative, driven, and resourceful, with responsibility to help transition Illuminas NGS technologies from research to clinical diagnostic testing./ppTerritory/ppThis territory account manager will work with clients to expand Illuminas footprint, drive revenue, and build existing healthcare relationships in New York City, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Rhode Island./ppResponsibilities/pulliEngage customers to effectively position and sell complex workflows/liliSuccessfully navigate and manage a multi-tiered sales process for both capital equipment, consumables, and services/liliUnderstand clinical and economic trends driving decision making in current healthcare market/liliProvide accurate sales forecasts, with a focus on instrument placement and reagent pull through/liliBuild a short/medium/long term sales pipeline and manage the necessary levels of sales leads, prospects, and opportunities/liliBuild and maintain relationships at all levels of the customer organization/liliDevelop and execute on territory and account-specific sales plans to meet assigned sales quotas/liliUnderstand competitive dynamics/liliDeliver compelling technical/scientific seminars and presentations on Illumina products and their capabilities/liliPartner cross-functionally with Illumina colleagues in sales, service, support, and marketing to appropriately address the needs of customer base/liliDemonstrate command of scientific knowledge to engage in collaborative sales process/liliA solid understanding of genomics, next generation sequencing and genotyping. This is the foundation of the position and the portfolio/liliDevelop high-value, long-term profitable customer accounts through relationship building sales techniques, including selling at the C-level/li/ulpRequirements/pulliStrong technical background in molecular biology, sequencing. Genomics expertise highly preferred/liliUnderstanding of the clinical, translational, and healthcare markets/lili8+ years of proven sales experience in life science capital equipment OR molecular diagnostic sales, high preference for genomics sales experience/liliStrong understanding of current trends, challenges, opportunities within the healthcare industry/liliPrevious demonstrated success with complex sales and within in multi-layered environment preferred/liliStrong negotiation skills including high-value capital equipment/liliProven track record growing specific, targeted markets/liliDemonstrated track record in lead generation and prospecting/liliHighly adaptable and independent/liliExcellent listening, time management, organizational and interpersonal skills/liliTeam minded approach to selling/liliSelf-starter: desire to seek creative solutions, learn and adapt to a changing landscape with a hunter mentality/liliCandidate should reside in the territory, working in the field and from home office/liliLife Science Degree is required, advanced degree is preferred/li/ul/div
