Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an IMC (Intermediate Care) position requiring neuro stepdown and cardiac telemetry experience, with at least 1 year of Epic EMR experience.

Details

• Position is on a 24-bed IMC unit (2 West) in an acute care hospital setting
• Adult patient population with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Clinical skills required include IV starts, port access, PICC line management, central and peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Respiratory care skills include trach management, oxygen delivery (nasal cannula, masks, portable O2, HFNC, CPAP/BiPAP), chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur-evac), ABG interpretation, and non-invasive support
• Cardiovascular care includes post-MI, cardiac cath and angiogram recovery, dysrhythmia management and interpretation, and on-unit telemetry monitoring
• Additional clinical duties include feeding tube management, PCA, procedural sedation administration, heparin protocols, and managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration)
• Additional competencies include wound care/wound vac, isolation precautions, renal failure management, pre/post hemodialysis, and rapid response team participation
• Epic EMR is used; 1 year of experience required
• Agency staff are required to float to other units or campuses as needed, limited to areas where documented competencies exist

Requirements

• Active SC or compact (multistate) RN license currently in hand — pending licenses are not accepted
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in an IMC, neuro stepdown, or cardiac telemetry unit
• 2 years of overall RN experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required — first-time travelers will not be considered
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from every Prisma Health facility to be eligible for this position
• Exception: For all open positions at this specific Tuomey campus, candidates must be 50+ miles from the relevant flagship Prisma hospital (Prisma Richland or Prisma Greenville) to be eligible
• Pre-assignment testing and online modules are required and must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials; orientation begins every Monday
• Modules are completed prior to start and are required annually
• Travelers who have completed three consecutive 13-week contracts (39 weeks) with Prisma Health must either convert to employee status or take a minimum six-month break before returning as a traveler
