The patient population includes surgical patients, gunshot victims, quadriplegics, and paraplegics. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 5:1. Nursing support technicians and phlebotomists are available on the unit. A unit secretary is present during night shifts. An emergency department nurse and admitting unit participate in nurse handoffs. Candidates must have the ability to work various shifts and be adaptable to changing schedules.
