Custodian Position

The East China School District is seeking dependable, hardworking, and team-oriented Custodians to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming learning environment for our students, staff, and visitors.

Custodians play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our schools and ensuring our facilities are well-maintained and ready for learning.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, cafeterias, and other school areas
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and perform general cleaning duties
• Set up and take down furniture and equipment for school activities and events
• Monitor building conditions and report maintenance or safety concerns
• Assist with minor maintenance tasks as assigned
• Follow established cleaning procedures and safety protocols
• Support snow removal and other seasonal duties as needed
• Work collaboratively with staff and administration to maintain a positive school environment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous custodial, maintenance, or cleaning experience is preferred but not required
• Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and supplies
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attendance, reliability, and attention to detail
• Ability to obtain required background clearances
• Ability to work afternoon shift (2:30 - 11:00 p.m. or 3:30 - midnight)
