Senior Epic Training Consultant – Contract - 6 Months

Healthcare IS is seeking an experienced Senior Epic Training Consultant to support a hospital organization with the development and delivery of a comprehensive Epic training program.

\n

This is a senior-level consulting role for someone who can do more than deliver an existing curriculum. We are looking for a consultant who has built, redesigned, or led Epic training programs from the ground up and is also a strong classroom instructor.

The organization’s training needs span several Epic applications, including:

\n

ASAP (ED) | Beacon (Oncology) | OpTime (Surgery) | Ambulatory | Inpatient Orders | Anesthesia | Stork (OB/GYN) | Willow (Pharmacy) | Beaker (Lab/Pathology)

\n

Experience with every module is not required . We are looking for someone with broad Epic experience who understands how to develop and manage training across multiple applications, workflows, and user groups.

\n

Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Assess the current Epic training environment and identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
\n
• Build, redesign, and enhance Epic training programs and processes.
\n
• Develop curriculum, lesson plans, classroom materials, exercises, job aids, and supporting documentation.
\n
• Deliver instructor-led classroom training for clinical and operational end users.
\n
• Help establish training standards and consistent processes across Epic applications.
\n
• Work with and provide guidance to Epic Credentialed Trainers supporting individual modules.
\n
• Partner with Epic application teams, clinical leaders, operational stakeholders, and subject matter experts.
\n
• Translate Epic workflows and functionality into effective end-user training.
\n
• Support training associated with workflow changes, enhancements, upgrades, and optimization.

Ideal Background

\n

\n
• Significant Epic EMR training experience within a hospital or health system .
\n
• Experience supporting training across multiple Epic modules .
\n
• Proven experience building or significantly redesigning an Epic training program .
\n
• Strong curriculum development and instructional design experience.
\n
• Extensive instructor-led/classroom training experience.
\n
• Experience working with or leading Epic Credentialed Trainers .
\n
• Strong understanding of clinical and operational healthcare workflows.
\n
• Excellent presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
\n
• Ability to work independently and operate at a senior consultant/lead level .
\n
• Epic certification, credentialing, or formal Epic training experience strongly preferred.
\n

This is not simply a Credentialed Trainer position . We need someone capable of evaluating the broader training environment, developing the program and curriculum behind it, supporting a team of trainers, and stepping into the classroom to deliver high-quality Epic training.
