About the Position

Job Title: RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: CVOR Scrub and Circulate Duration: 15 weeks Shift: 13 hours Hours per Shift: 6:00 AM - 7:30 PM Experience: 3 to 5 years recent scrub and circulating nurse experience in complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases is required. License: RN Certifications: BLS (must be AHA) required. CNOR is preferred. Must-Have: Ability to multitask and apply critical thinking skills is a must. Excellent communication skills and ability to work as a team player are essential. Description: Must be able to scrub and circulate. Primarily responsible for scrubbing. Required holiday availability includes one summer holiday (Memorial Day, 4th of July, or Labor Day) and one winter holiday (Thanksgiving or Christmas) as per departmental needs. Any time off requests must be added to the end of the contract for a full 13 working weeks. Experience must include complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases, including, but not limited to, the following: coronary artery bypass (primary and redo), aortic aneurysms, aortic valve replacements, mitral valve replacements (primary and redo), transcatheter aortic valve replacements, ECMO, and VADs. Adult experience is required; pediatric experience is a plus. Understanding that call and overtime may be necessary is important. Participation in professional activities of the department is expected. Numerous ongoing research protocols may be involved. Epic access is needed. Weekend and on-call expectations include 1-2 call shifts per week, which may include weekends, as per a 6-week schedule. Holiday expectations include working one major holiday and one minor holiday.
