R&D Lab Technician - Mechanical Engineering We are seeking a hands‑on R&D Lab Technician to support our Mechanical Engineering team in prototyping, assembly, testing, and lab operations. This role is ideal for someone comfortable working with mechanical systems, basic electrical troubleshooting, fabrication tools, and lab equipment in a fast‑paced development environment. Scope Assemble, modify, and support engineering prototypes and test fixtures using hand and power tools. Read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and electrical diagrams. Troubleshoot low‑voltage electrical systems using multimeters and related test equipment. Route, terminate, label, and manage low‑voltage wiring and perform basic soldering. Operate standard fabrication equipment such as drill presses, taps, bandsaws, and similar shop tools. Support daily operation and maintenance of 3D printers, machining equipment, and robotic lab cells. Maintain lab organization, inventory, and materials handling activities. Operate forklifts and assist with receiving, storing, and transporting equipment and materials. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree preferred. Hands‑on experience with mechanical assembly, fabrication tools, and light machining equipment. Basic electrical troubleshooting experience, including multimeter usage and wire tracing. Experience with low‑voltage wiring and soldering. Ability to read basic engineering drawings and schematics. Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire. Strong attention to detail and safety‑focused mindset. Pluses Experience operating or setting up machining equipment such as end mills. Previous experience in R&D, prototyping, or rapid‑development environments. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform hands‑on assembly. Estimated Min Rate : $35.00 Estimated Max Rate : $40.00/hr + Depends on work experience.
