Job Description and Duties

Under the supervision of the Correctional Food Manager I (CFM I), and the general direction of the Correctional Business Manager  I (CBM I), the Assistant Correctional Food Manager (ACFM) will assist the CFM I in planning, directing, and coordinating all related

food service activities. Specifically, the ACFM will prepare orders, prepare bids and prices for orders, plan menus, requisition  supplies from the warehouse, take inventory, write policies and procedures, select and train staff and review time sheets. In  addition, the Assistant Correctional Food Manager will provide direct supervision for the feeding program.

Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position(s).

Working Conditions

California Medical Facility (CMF), located in a unique spot in Vacaville, CA. Unique as in being surrounded by many areas for family fun, exercise, touristy adventures and more. Approximately 35 miles east of downtown Sacramento, approximately 53 miles west of Pier 39 in San Francisco, and if you want to meet in the middle you can swing by Napa which is approximately 30 miles west. Also located nearby are the Vacaville Outlets for all your shopping needs.

Candidates new to CDCR are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
