Job Description
Title: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Assignment Details:
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week

Requirements:
- 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience - Required
- Postpartum and nursery experience - Required
- ACLS certification (AHA) - Required
- BLS certification (AHA) - Required
- NRP certification - Required
- BSN degree - Preferred
- Must have an active Ohio or compact license at time of submission

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive head-to-toe assessments on patients and reassessments as per policy.
- Assess and reassess pain using appropriate methods and educate patients and families on pain management techniques.
- Develop and revise care plans based on patient responses to treatment, evaluating plans for effectiveness daily.
- Provide patient care while considering the needs specific to age and developmental principles across the lifespan.
- Administer medications correctly based on patient age and clinical condition while following the five rights of medication administration to minimize errors.
- Develop and implement teaching plans based on identified learning needs, evaluating the effectiveness of education provided to patients and families.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment, treating patients and families with compassion and dignity, addressing psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with all stakeholders regarding patient care.

Compliance / Notes:
- Documentation must meet current standards and policies.
- Manage and operate equipment safely and correctly.
- Annual competencies must be maintained, including bedside blood glucose testing.
