Press Brake Operator

As a Press Brake Operator, you will be an integral part of the fabrication team, responsible for setting up and operating CNC press brake equipment to bend and form metal parts according to specifications. You will work with plate rolling equipment, interpret blueprints, and ensure precision in measurement tasks.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC press brake equipment to bend and form metal parts to specification.
• Operate plate rolling equipment to form metal plates into required shapes and curves.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate builds.
• Accurately measure materials and finished parts using tape measure and caliper tools.
• Work confidently within the standard (imperial) measurement system.
• Operate various power tools as needed to complete fabrication tasks.
• Safely operate overhead cranes to move materials and finished products.
• Lift and move materials up to 50 lbs. as needed.
• Inspect completed parts for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with shop safety standards.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience operating a CNC press brake.
• Experience operating plate rolling equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Proficient in using tape measure and caliper tools.
• Strong understanding of the standard (imperial) measurement system.
• Experience operating power tools.
• Certified or experienced in operating overhead cranes (or willing to be trained/certified).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to stand, bend, and work in a shop environment for extended periods.
• Comfortable operating heavy machinery and power tools.

Work Environment

Work the 1st shift from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Thursday, with occasional Fridays until lunch. The work environment is a non-climate-controlled plant, so be prepared for hot or cold conditions. Steel-toed boots are required, with additional PPE such as welding hoods, gloves, safety glasses, and jackets provided.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dothan, AL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
