University Drive, Human Resources, MASS Building 2nd Floor, Edinburg, TX 78539 Office Phone: Edinburg View phone number on click.appcast.io; Brownsville View phone number on click.appcast.io Office Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. School of Music: Part‑Time Lecturer – Applied Music Scope of Job: The School of Music at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley occasionally hires Music Part‑Time Lecturers to teach in its Bachelor’s/Master’s program for the Fall 2026 & Spring 2027 semesters. Responsibilities include delivering quality instruction, advising students, and participating in scholarship activities. Teaching assignments include Applied Lessons in a variety of instruments and other courses as needed. Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Music from an accredited university. Ph.D. or DMA in Music is required to teach graduate‑level courses. Discipline‑Specific Requirements: Preferable one‑year university‑level teaching experience; ability to use technology to support teaching and learning. Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate in Music Performance; professional solo and ensemble performance experience; willingness to teach at both the Brownsville and Edinburg campuses. Salary: Part‑time lecturers are paid per course taught, commensurate with experience and/or qualifications. All positions are subject to budget approval. License or Certification Required: None.
