Registered Veterinary Technician

Mission Valley Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our collaborative team in central Fremont. You’ll work with dogs, cats, birds, and small mammals in a supportive environment where mentorship, teamwork, and high‑quality patient care are top priorities. In this position, you will play a key role in both outpatient and procedural workflows, contributing to a consistent, high standard of care throughout the patient visit. Responsibilities Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows Performing anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery Assisting in surgery Performing dental procedures, including prophylaxis and radiography Maintaining accurate, detailed medical records and treatment documentation Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately Identifying patient concerns and supporting efficient case management across the hospital Building strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service Schedule and Compensation $32‑38 per hour, for each hour worked Full‑time position with a 5/8 schedule and rotating Saturdays; future 4/10 scheduling may be offered Full‑time Benefits Package Bonus package: $2000 based on active, good‑standing veterinary technician credentials in the state of California CE allowance: $500‑$1,000 based on tenure and credentials Health package: Medical, dental, and vision insurance with HSA option and choice of United Healthcare or Kaiser Permanente Life insurance and disability Employee Assistance Program 401(​k) with company match starting in 2027 Paid time off in accordance with site policy and applicable law *Part‑time team members may be eligible for limited benefits in accordance with company policy and state law Minimum Qualifications and Skill Set 3+ years of veterinary technician experience Active and good‑standing Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in the state of California Proficiency in the following skills: Anesthetic induction, monitoring, and recovery Surgical assistance and aseptic technique Dental prophylaxis and dental radiography Venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement Radiology positioning and safety protocols Medication administration and accurate drug calculations Laboratory sample collection and in‑house diagnostic testing Effective teamwork and professional communication skills Pocket pet and avian handling experience is highly desired! **Recent graduates pending VTNE testing and licensure, or out-of‑state license‑holders who are eligible to transfer a license, are also encouraged to apply.
