Temporary Research Associate

Job Description

OBJECTIVES: 

\n

This role is focused on conducting cell based assays to support preclinical and clinical stage small molecule anti-inflammatory programs. Reporting to the Senior Director of Biology, the ideal candidate will have a range of skills and be open to learning new techniques to answer key biological questions. The colleague will be an enthusiastic and self-motivated candidate that enjoys working in a highly focused, collaborative and fast-paced team environment.

\n

RESPONSIBILITIES, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: 

\n

·      Being part of a team focused on executing SOPs in primary immune cells to move projects forward

\n

·      Knowledge of immunology and cellular biology is preferred

\n

·      Familiarity with cellular and molecular biology assays, including ELISA, HTRF and flow cytometry

\n

·      Outstanding organizational skills and experience in preparing scientific and technical documents including detailed protocols

\n

·      Experience using data analysis programs such as Prism, Excel, FlowJo

\n

·      Document and deliver high-quality data in a time-efficient manner

\n

·      Comfortable presenting data at internal review meetings

\n

 

\n

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

\n

·      A minimum of a BS in Biology or related discipline with 2+ years direct experience in an industry environment

\n

·      Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)  experience is preferred

\n

·      Willingness to work in a dynamic and changing environment

\n

·      High level of motivation to consistently execute SOPs developed by the team

\n

·      Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

\n

 

\n

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

\n

·      Manual dexterity required to operate office equipment (i.e. computers, phones, etc.)   

\n

·      Carrying, handling and reaching for objects (up to 25 lbs)

\n

·      Onsite office, lab environment

\n
