About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years RN experience; 1 year in specialty experience preferred License: State RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS preferred Must-Have: - Interpretation of dysrhythmias - Management of dysrhythmias - Procedural sedation administration/monitoring - Telemetry skills - Continuous IV sedation experience Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical/Telemetry. The role involves caring for adult and geriatric patient populations. Patients will include those with cardiac conditions such as acute myocardial infarction, unstable angina, congestive heart failure, and unstable arrhythmias. The unit also handles CVA and surgical patients, with a high turnover observation unit. The RN will be expected to provide care for an average of 5 patients. In cases of staff shortages, the ratio may increase to 6 or 7 patients with support from LPNs. Experience with cardioversion, thoracentesis, bone marrow biopsy, chest tube insertion, central line insertion, and paracentesis is preferred but not required. Required drips include heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, dopamine, and nitroglycerin, with expected proficiency. The position requires working every other weekend. Candidates must have a positive attitude and be team-oriented.
