Grants Management Specialist

Summary This position is located in Region Six, Mitigation Division. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience enhancing and developing Hazard Mitigation Assistance programs through innovation, customer-service, collaboration, and problem-solving for optimal results. Duties What will I do in this position if hired? In this position, you will serve as a Grants Management Specialist performing work that involves implementing and managing Federal grants and cooperative agreements (CA) and providing related technical assistance and services. Typical assignments include: Reviewing and evaluating Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA) grant sub applications through all phases of the grants cycle from initial receipt, award, obligations, post-award monitoring, and processing amendment requests Providing technical assistance on all matters relating to mitigation and HMA policy guidance is provided as needed. Working with state, tribal, and local governments through the request for information (RFI) process to ensure application completeness and eligibility. Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. Qualifications Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. To qualify for this position at the GS-12 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position.
