About the Position
Job Title: Anesthesia Tech Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Anesthesia Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: Variable start times between 06:00 - 18:30 and 09:00 - 21:30 Experience: Minimum 3 years of Anesthesia Tech experience, with 1+ year of travel experience required License: Valid State License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, ASATT, Cer.A.T., Cer.A.T.T. Must-Have: - 3 years of Anesthesia Tech experience - 1+ year of travel experience - Certifications in ACLS and BLS - Experience with anesthesia machine, troubleshooting, and documentation of procedures Description: An anesthesia tech is needed for a surgical services unit. This role involves supporting anesthesia providers in the operating room. The setting includes a total of 14 operating room suites. Approximately 7500 cases are conducted each year in this unit. Cases are primarily scheduled Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 7 PM and Saturdays from 7 AM to 3 PM. After hours staffing involves on-call duties. The patient population is adult only with a focus on total joints, orthopedics, general surgery, vascular, GYN, robotics, cardiac, and some urology, ENT, and breast cases. Neuro, spine, and mother/baby cases are not part of this unit’s responsibilities. The anesthesia tech must be capable of handling various tasks, including assisting in emergency situations, monitoring patients, and ensuring the anesthesia equipment is functioning properly. Skills required include familiarity with anesthesia machines and troubleshooting, applying aseptic techniques, and patient positioning. Candidates must also be able to assist with documentation and maintain compliance with universal protocols.
