The unit experiences a mix of acuity that is balanced by shifts which allow for focused, thoughtful patient care—not just constant hustle and bustle. Here’s What You Need Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing – Required Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing – Preferred Minimum 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting – Required 2 or more years of experience in an acute care setting – Preferred RN – Registered Nurse License – Required upon hire BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support – Required prior to providing independent patient care; must be maintained quarterly ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support – Required within 90 days of hire CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – Required within 90 days of hire A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast‑paced environment.
