Project Engineer

The project engineer is responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of a construction project, ensuring it’s completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards by managing resources, coordinating with contractors, monitoring progress, solving on-site problems, and documenting project details through the construction process. The project engineer typically provides general administrative support to projects, under the direction of a more experienced project management professional.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Work collaboratively with the project manager and team to maximize productivity and in a timely manner. Create and manage contracts and SOWs (discuss process and streamline). Support submittal process. In charge of close out manuals and warranty books. Make sure all contracts, SOWs, COIs, etc. are being turned around in a timely fashion. Coordinate efforts within the team and with outside consultants (architects, engineers, owner’s reps) efficiently. Participate in weekly updates with directors of operations on PM status log. Track and update job cost files with contract and PO status. Follows up with project managers on missing requirements from them and the subcontractors.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in construction management or equivalent. 0-2 years’ experience in commercial construction and restaurant projects. Excellent communication skills. Keen attention to detail and an aptitude for problem solving. Collaborative working style and team-player attitude. Positive and encouraging personality. Reliable, trustworthy, and committed to team's success. Outstanding organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks. Able to thrive in a high-volume, deadline-driven work environment.
