Our Organization - Division of Cardiology

We are in search of a Director of Arrhythmia Services to oversee a well-established electrophysiology program catering to the New York Capital Region. This role presents a unique chance to enhance and expand a comprehensive electrophysiology initiative, emphasizing innovation, clinical excellence, education, mentorship, and research. The academic title will be Associate Professor or Professor , contingent upon qualifications and experience.

Our team is expanding to include 18 cardiologists and 5 advanced practice providers to address the growing demand. Founded in 1839, our organization is one of the oldest private medical schools in the nation and hosts the only academic tertiary care hospital in the Capital Region.

• Direct the clinical and strategic vision for the Electrophysiology section, focusing on program expansion, quality improvement, and patient outcomes.
• Establish an EP fellowship program in partnership with division and institutional Graduate Medical Education (GME) leadership.
• Create new clinical pathways, services, and outreach strategies to boost procedural and referral volumes.
• Work collaboratively with faculty in advanced heart failure, interventional cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, and cardiovascular imaging.
• Facilitate the education and development of fellows, residents, and advanced practice providers.
• Partner with institutional research leadership to enhance clinical trials and investigator-initiated studies in electrophysiology.
• Guide junior faculty and trainees, emphasizing scholarly productivity and career advancement.
• Promote the academic, clinical, and educational missions of the Division of Cardiology.

• MD/DO (or equivalent) with board certification in Cardiovascular Disease and/or Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology.
• Completion of a fellowship in clinical cardiac electrophysiology.
• Experience in an academic medical center, demonstrating leadership, program development, and research engagement.
• Proven record of teaching, mentorship, and scholarly accomplishments suitable for an appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor level.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across various specialties.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in New York State.
