Tax Accountant

Harlem-based Enrolled Agent practice seeking an experienced Tax Associate with bookkeeping knowledge. Must-have qualifications: • EA or AFSP credential • Active PTIN • 2+ seasons of tax prep using Drake Tax software • Adobe Acrobat DC - we are a paperless office that relies exclusively on scanning and organizing large PDF files. • Excel 365/2024--including pivot tables--VERY IMPORTANT! • Monroe Ultimate Adding Machine • Strong written communication skills (ability to interpret and respond to tax authority correspondence). What you’ll do: • Complex Schedule C (>$100k gross receipts) • Prepare and review individual returns (Forms 1040/NY/NYC) • Schedule E for rental properties (depreciation, passive activity rules) • High-volume 1099-B reconciliations (basis, wash sales) • Multi-state individual filings (nonresident/part-year) • Review returns for technical accuracy and completeness • Analyze IRS transcripts and client source documents to resolve discrepancies Employment Type: Full Time Years Experience: 1 - 3 years Salary: $18 - $35 Hourly Bonus/Commission: No
