Join Colonial Transportation Solutions, Inc., and be part of a team that keeps America moving.Collonial Transportation Solutions, Inc. i s a wholly-owned subsidiary of Colonial Group, Inc Job Summary The Truck Mechanic II, an essential member of the fleet maintenance team, provides safe, federally compliant, dependable, and cost-effective equipment using preventative and predictive maintenance, as well as training of Truck Mechanic I employees. Duties & Responsibilities Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs diesel truck and other company equipment. Performs preventive maintenance on company equipment. Performs general maintenance on company equipment. Maintains clean and orderly workspace, company equipment, and facility. Completes recordkeeping and documentation for all repairs. Assists in training and development of entry-level mechanics. Fabrication of tools, parts, and equipment use for operations in the company. Familiarizes self with equipment in the company to have ability to trouble shoot issues. Attends training as prescribed by management to maintain job proficiency. Uses equipment and resources safely and proficiently. Ensures compliance with company standard operating procedures. Partners with colleagues to determine best practices with the goal of minimizing equipment downtime and route interference during repair times. Other duties as assigned. Education & Experience High School Diploma or GED is required. A valid drivers’ license is required. 5 years’ experience as a truck mechanic or in a fleet setting required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Basic Microsoft Office and computer skills required Automotive/Diesel mechanics degree and/or manufacturer CBT training course certificates are preferred. Knowledge of preventative, predictive, routine, non-routine, and emergency maintenance for equipment primarily powered by diesel and gasoline engines and auxiliary equipment is preferred. regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
