Description Job Title: Dignity in Pay Program Job Coach (DSP) Department: Dignity in Pay Program Reports To: Program Director Date: February 2026 Job Summary: The Job Coach provides on-site job training, coaching, and supervision to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, supporting them in achieving success and independence at community job sites. This role includes direct oversight, transportation assistance, and performance feedback to help individuals maintain employment and develop essential work skills. There will also be crossover within the CDS program, conducting small group classes on employable skills, helping individuals with volunteer opportunities, providing variable levels of direct care support and ADLs, and occasionally assisting with day to day CDS operations.

- Provide direct job coaching and supervision to individuals at community job sites such as grocery stores, warehouses, and retail shops.
- Offer hands-on training to help individuals understand job duties, workplace expectations, and performance standards.
- Assist with transportation to and from job sites as needed, ensuring client safety and punctuality.
- Monitor, document, and report client progress, work hours, and shadowing activities.
- Communicate effectively with employers, co-workers, and supervisors to support successful job placement and retention.
- Implement behavior support and communication strategies consistent with individuals' individual service plans.
- Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times.
- Serve as a positive role model by promoting independence, professionalism, and inclusion in community settings.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support individuals and program goals. Program responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Report to work routinely and timely; if unable to report to work, or if there is a need to come to work late or leave early, follow Vista Care's approval policy.
- Complete required on-going training and competency requirements within Vista Care and State/County timeframes.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities preferred.
- Strong communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in community settings.
- Must be dependable, flexible, and comfortable providing hands-on support at job sites.
- Valid Illinois driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire).

- Ability to walk, bend, lift, and assist individuals during work activities.
- Must be able to transport individuals safely in company or personal vehicles.
- Must be comfortable working in a variety of community and workplace settings.
- Strong ability to observe, communicate, and support individuals during all aspects of job coaching.
