Media and Ed Tech Specialist

Job Summary Reporting to the Assistant Director of Distributed Learning, this position plays a key role in developing innovative multimedia resources and supporting faculty in integrating technology effectively into their teaching. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in instructional media production, a deep understanding of educational technologies, and experience working in higher education settings. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with faculty to design, develop, and produce instructional videos that enhance student engagement. Edit and refine video and audio content using industry-standard tools. Integrate interactive elements into videos to improve learning outcomes. Ensure all multimedia content meets accessibility standards. Provide guidance on best practices for integrating video and multimedia into course design. Stay current with emerging technologies in instructional media and support faculty in their effective use. Manage the CTE’s video production studio, ensuring high-quality audio/visual outputs. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for faculty using multimedia tools. Assist in producing multimedia content for professional development, marketing, and special initiatives. Support faculty and staff in recording on-site and off-site interviews, podcasts, seminars, and webinars to enhance teaching excellence. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in educational technology, digital media, film/video production, or related field plus two years of professional experience in educational video production and multimedia development. Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere, Camtasia, or similar tools. Experience integrating multimedia into learning management systems. Strong understanding of educational technology trends and multimedia best practices for higher education. Knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) for multimedia accessibility. Experience with LMS-integrated video tools (e.g., Panopto, Zoom). Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to collaborate with faculty to develop effective digital learning materials. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Capacity to lift, carry, and operate video equipment as needed. Excellent communication and coaching skills, with commitment to faculty support and innovation. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in educational technology, digital media, film/video production, or related field with three or more years of professional experience in higher education instructional media production. Work Schedule Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. May require flexible hours to meet departmental needs.
