Food Service Worker

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Food Service Worker to join our team at TEAC. This full-time (6.5 hour a day) position involves preparing and serving nutritious meals to students, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will be passionate about promoting healthy eating habits among children and will possess strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve meals in accordance with established menus and dietary guidelines.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of food service areas before and after meal service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, dining areas, and food storage facilities.
- Ensure compliance with local health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
- Monitor food inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service to students and staff during meal service.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to plan and implement special events and menu changes.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities as required.
- Assist in the training and supervision of new staff members and volunteers.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Food Service Manager.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in food service or kitchen operations is a plus.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including early mornings and occasional weekends.
