Cardiac Tele Floor Travel Nurse Position

Unit Notes Cardiac Tele floor - Must be stroke certified and have experience caring for stroke patients. Must have prior tele, stepdown or PCU high acuity tele experience. More PCU/Stepdown. 50 mile radius rule, no local rates. Cannot be perm or per diem at another CommonSpirit within the past 12 months. Cannot have 2nd job - must prioritize travel assignment. Schedule profile review - traveler will complete Smartsheet. Email, clinical will review and recommend, no prescreen interview if clinical recommends, interview with manager. Please send availability for Zoom interview. Level II facility Cerner EMR preferred if put on standby. Response time is 30 minutes if put on standby, and not called in, that counts as a cancellation towards the cancellation policy.

Hospital/Area Info: Travelers extend up to their year mark. Central to national parks, Yosemite is 1-2 hour drive. Lakes: McClure, McSwain, Don Pedro Lakes & Lake Yosemite for outdoor sports & trails. Farmers markets nearby towns: Atwater, Linton, Le Grand. 2 hours from San Fran & Sacramento. 1 hour from Fresno & Modesto. Day trips: Mariposa, Groveland or El Portal. Affordable housing for California.

Unit: Tele 4th floor - # beds: 34 - Certs: BLS, ACLS - Ratios: 1 to 4 - EMR: Cerner - Charge Nurse: Yes, each shift--normally do not take patients - Nurse Aides: Yes, but no ratios on the aides - Weekend Requirement: 2 weekends every 4 weeks - Holidays: Same as core staff--work one major, two minors - Scrub Color: Navy - Tele: Client--monitored on a different unit by monitor techs--there are monitors on the unit as well; nurses must be able to read and interpret their own strips - Vents: bi-pap - Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: hospitalist in house 24/7 - IV Team: None - RT 24/7: Yes - Pharmacy 24/7: Yes - Call: None - Shifts: 7a, 7p - Floating: First to float, MS Tele floors 5th, 6th, 7th - Floor specific orientation: If they have Cerner experience they get 2, if no Cerner they get 3 - Common diagnosis/Types of patients: Stroke certified so post CVA, r/o CHF, respiratory failure, DM, HTN, non titating drips but will see cardizem etc, titrate heparin only, no insulin drips, post ops, some post cardiac caths, post PCI patients (travelers not assigned cath/PCI patients) - Additional Notes Make sure the travelers are aware that they may not always have a nurse aide and will do primary nursing; the goal is to have aides but not always possible; there is availability for extra shifts at times; will not accommodate BLOCK or set scheduling
