Responsibilities Live the purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices. Oversee the pharmacy team during bench shifts, improving performance through coaching and follow‑up. Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by directing the team to follow workflow procedures and safety guardrails. Enhance patient experiences by demonstrating empathy, resolving insurance and medication issues, and collaborating with the patient’s total health care team. Proactively offer and deliver immunizations and train technicians to immunize. Manage pharmacy inventory, protect cold‑chain products, and coach the team on inventory best practices. Conduct onboarding for new technicians and pharmacists, ensuring timely completion of required training and licensure. Ensure full compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations, escalating issues as needed. Partner with the Store Manager to build a talent pipeline of cross‑trained staff and monitor their training progress. Oversee Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists, manage performance through observation, feedback, and annual reviews. Maintain flexible scheduling while contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic. Review business reporting for operational insights, develop action plans to close gaps in workflow, service, patient care, and compliance. Establish a culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion, welcoming feedback and responding appropriately. Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills, pursue ongoing learning to support patients. Support access to care and improve outcomes through pharmacist‑delivered clinical services such as testing and prescribing, where permissible. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, professional, and ethical standards and CVS Health policies. Essential Functions Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends. Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe. Attention and focus: concentrate on tasks and pivot quickly to meet patient and business needs. Customer service and team orientation: look for ways to help people in a friendly manner. Communication skills: use and understand verbal and written communication, practice active listening. Mathematical reasoning: apply math to calculate prescriptions and inventory needs. Problem resolution: identify challenging interactions and choose the best course of action. Physical demands: mobilize and remain upright, lift up to 20 lbs, reach overhead, pick and type with fingers, stoop, and maintain close visual acuity. Team management and leadership: lead by example, delegate tasks, motivate the team, apply problem‑solving skills, foster a collaborative environment, and address challenges. Adaptability and accountability: navigate changing circumstances and take ownership. Required Qualifications Active pharmacist license in the state where the store is located. Active National Provider Identifier (NPI). Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list. 1‑2 years of experience as a pharmacist. Preferred Qualifications Completion of the CVS Pharmacy Manager Emerging Leader (PM‑EL) program. 3‑5 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting. Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations. Compensation The typical pay range for this role is $70.00 – $91.00 per hour. Pay is based on experience, education, geography, and other factors and may include bonus, commission, or incentive programs. Stoop to a considerable degree; bend spine at the waist. Maintain close visual acuity for transcribing, viewing terminals, reading, and inspecting small parts. Occasional lift of up to 20 lbs and frequent lift of up to 10 lbs; minimal force otherwise.
