Registrar

Position Responsibilities Responsible for timely and accurate registering of patients. Interviews patient for all pertinent account information. Verifies insurance coverage. Calculates patient estimated responsibility due at time of service. Understanding insurance deductibles, co-pay, and coinsurance to explain and educate the patient. Verifies past due amounts. Requests/collects patient payments and issues receipts. Understands financial payment options available to patients. Opens/closes individual cash bag ensuring it is balanced. Makes appropriate documentation in the system. Answers and directs incoming calls, including “stat” calls, and covers PBX when needed. Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development and the care of patients appropriate to the ages served. Adheres to HIPAA privacy regulations in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma/GED preferred.
