Assistant Boys Soccer Coach

Summary Joel Barlow High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our coaching staff as an Assistant Boys Soccer Coach for the upcoming season. This seasonal position offers an opportunity to work closely with student-athletes, fostering their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a competitive environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for soccer, a commitment to student development, and the ability to inspire young athletes. Responsibilities Assist the Head Coach in planning and implementing daily practice sessions, drills, and game strategies. Provide instruction and support to student-athletes to enhance their technical and tactical skills. Help organize and supervise team activities, including practices, games, and team meetings. Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, respect, and collaboration among players. Monitor player progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance individual and team performance. Assist in the development of game plans and strategies for competitions. Support the Head Coach in maintaining team discipline and adherence to school policies and regulations. Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team matters. Attend all scheduled practices, games, and coaching meetings throughout the season. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Head Coach or athletic director. Requirements Strong knowledge of soccer techniques, strategies, and rules of the game. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with student-athletes, parents, and staff. Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes to achieve their best both on and off the field. Certification in CPR/First Aid is preferred, or willingness to obtain prior to the start of the season. Must pass a background check as required by the school district. Availability to work evenings and weekends during the soccer season.
