Chief Executive Officer

The client is seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead a defining moment in the fight against hunger. The organization works at the intersection of direct service and systems change, aiming to ensure community members have access to fresh, nutritious, culturally relevant food while also addressing root causes of hunger through community organizing and policy advocacy. Guided by a belief that food is a human right, the organization supports immediate needs and long-term change, grounded in community voice. The CEO, in partnership with the Board of Directors, will set a clear and compelling vision and align strategy, culture, and operations to deliver on that vision. This role requires a leader who can balance big-picture thinking with execution, empower a strong senior team, and reinforce clarity, accountability, and measurable results. Internally, the CEO will cultivate a cohesive, high-performing culture built on trust, transparency, and respect, and lead effectively in a unionized environment to strengthen alignment and collaboration. Externally, the CEO will serve as a visible and credible ambassador, deepening relationships with community partners, funders, and policymakers while expanding the organization’s reach and influence. A key priority will be advancing a capital campaign and securing resources to sustain and grow the organization’s work. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership, vision, and the ability to navigate organizational change, translate strategy into focused priorities, inspire shared purpose across stakeholders, and drive comprehensive fundraising efforts, including major gifts.
