We are currently seeking a Shipping Clerk to join our team. Our Shipping Clerks are responsible for organizing, sorting, and transferring goods from one location to another. They monitor company packages from start to finish, ensuring proper packing techniques and shipping practices. Job duties:

• Check truck drivers in and out of the warehouse, assigning docks if needed
• Report overages, shortages, defective materials, or questionable conditions to applicable departments
• Produce accurate inbound paperwork to confirm delivery of the product
• Receive and sign for shipments of raw materials
• Notify deliver of incoming product to end-user
• Update inventory management system by posting daily receipts and documentation to management
• Complete daily shipping / receiving entries in the computer system
• Review bill documentation
• Confirm orders have been loaded
• Ensure driver has reviewed bill documentation, and confirm the driver has correct and accurate paperwork for the load with destination
• Ensure that driver receives company seal for inspection by guard Shark
• Keep accurate records to support accounting, inventory control, and purchasing
• Ensure all aisles and docks are kept clear
• Maintain a safe work environment following company procedures and safety regulations

• • Pull and prepare products for shipment. Pick orders, compare lot numbers, build pallets, unload and load trailers and verify proper stacking and freight on pallets. Tape or stretch-wrap pallet as required to ensure product stability.
  • Count product, compare counts to drivers manifest, and check shipments for damage, infestation, and production code dates. Verify receipt of the product at the appropriate temperature.
  • Move product using a forklift, pallet jack, or other power equipment. Stack and store the product in appropriate areas. Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials. Pallet heights can reach up to 7 feet.
  • Identify and recover any received or shipping damage.
  • Assist in physical inventories with the use of scanners. Ensure proper stock rotation by following lot number identification.
  • Maintain the facilities, equipment, and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion. Inspect and verify equipment is in operating order each day before shift begins.
  • Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

To qualify for this job you must have:

• GED or High school diploma
• 1-3 years experience in Shipping or related field
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to read and write in English
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, AS400, and Lotus Notes
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure

• The work environment will include cold temperatures between 50 to 10 (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals. Villari Foods will provide cold-weather gear to you.
