Job Description & Requirements Baptist Health System - San Antonio TX is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the ED - Emergency Department in Brownsville, Texas. Specialty: ED - Emergency Department Discipline: RN Duration: Ongoing 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours Employment Type: Staff This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus Full Time Rotate This role provides direct clinical patient care, assessing, planning, implementing direct clinical care to assigned patients per shift and at unit level. The RN supervises staff for delegated care and supports the CNO in ensuring high quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, staff competency, and resource management. The RN provides high-quality, safe, cost-effective, total nursing care to all patients. The RN assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process. The RN directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, QI, and infection control, aiming to discharge the patient with optimal care. Assumes responsibility for coordination and planning of patient care within the prescribed medical regime. Administers all medications safely and timely per hospital policy. Performs and fulfills all HICS responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed during emergencies and disasters. Knows the hospital’s emergency codes and adheres to policies for each. Minimum Requirements Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. License & Certifications: Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice as required by law, including AHA BLS, and, if applicable, AHA ACLS and/or PALS/ENPC, TNCC, CPI. Preferred Requirements Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing. Experience: Recent acute care experience.
