Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians to develop and evaluate individualized plans of care aimed at returning patients to optimal health
• Provide direct bedside nursing care and carry out medical orders in an ICU setting with ratios of 1:2, or 1:1 for special populations
• Delegate and coordinate nursing care tasks to ancillary personnel including Nurse Assistants and Patient Care Associates
• Integrate evidence-based knowledge into practice and participate in patient conferences and discharge/transfer planning
• Communicate relevant patient information effectively across the care team and assume a leadership role within the unit
• Float to the Emergency Department and Step-Down unit as needed; comfort with floating to ED and Step-Down is required

Required Qualifications

• Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Willingness and ability to float to ED and Step-Down units
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Must reside more than 35 miles from the facility to be eligible at standard travel rates

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience
• Neurosurgical experience
• Open heart experience
• Additional certifications such as TCAR, TNCC, CCRN, or SCRN
