About Our Emergency Department:

Located in the picturesque town of Brevard, North Carolina, our facility is a critical access hospital. Our Emergency Department includes a 16-bed unit, featuring 4 vertical chairs, along with 4 treatment rooms that can be adapted for behavioral health needs. We deliver acute care to patients facing a diverse range of conditions, from chest and abdominal pain to fractures and infections.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide leadership that facilitates the delivery of professional nursing care, ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients. You will utilize the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—to deliver, delegate, supervise, and document care and education for patients and their families. You will also implement medically prescribed interventions.

Qualifications Required:

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enrollment in a BSN or advanced degree program, with a commitment to obtain a BSN within five years of starting the RN position. Grandfathering will be accepted between departments and affiliated entities. Exemptions or extensions may be granted by the facility's Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and reported to the CNO Council. Facilities will track exemptions as needed. RNs with over ten years of experience are exempt.
• License: Must possess and maintain current licensure as a registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. An eNLC (Enhanced Nurse License Compact) license may apply; licensees should verify with the NCBON. Registered Nurse licensure must be obtained within 30 days of employment commencement.
• Certification: BLS Healthcare Provider certification is required.
• Experience: A minimum of one year of nursing experience in a hospital setting is necessary.
