For nearly 40 years, Glen Oaks Hospital has been a leader in the field of mental health and chemical dependency care, and our staff is dedicated to researching the latest treatment approaches and applying this to our overall treatment philosophy.Position Summary: The Outpatient Nurse provides direct patient care under the direction of Manager/Director, Outpatient services for adults, adolescents, children and geriatric patients with psychiatric and substance abuse conditions or House Supervisor. Responsible for using the Nursing process to effectively manage the Plan of Care for each patient based on appropriate standards, policies and procedures. Management of each patient also includes appropriately and effectively delegating patient care duties to other members of the nursing team in order to assure optimal patient outcomes. The Registered Nurse is also responsible for continuing his/her own professional development to enhance practice and the profession of Nursing. Actively participates as a member of the multi-disciplinary team of the unit and performs duties as assigned.
