Clinic Manager

Clinic Manager Location: Savannah, Tennessee | Position Type: Full-Time/Regular Note: This is for a future opening. The Clinic Manager provides services at the Community Based Outpatient Clinic and serves as the Patient Relations Specialist, representing the interests of Veteran patients and coordinating care with the Medical Center and stakeholders. Overview The Clinic Manager is responsible for understanding the clinic programs, processes, and procedures, and maintaining relationships with various services. The role supports Customer Service and Service Excellence program initiatives and manages day-to-day clinic operations under the direction of the Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC). Essential Functions Perform managerial duties related to organization, leadership, and delegation of tasks, critical thinking, and prioritizing competing actions/activities. As the designated CBOC Safety Officer, demonstrate and apply safety and security principles and practices. As the designated CBOC Infection Control Officer, demonstrate and apply infection control principles and practices. As the designated CBOC Patient Advocacy Officer, support customer service and patient satisfaction. As the designated CBOC Information Management/Cyber Security Officer, ensure compliance with VA information management policies and procedures. Complete and submit mandatory reports, logs, inspections, etc. accurately and timely as directed by STGi and its Subcontractor. Demonstrate team-building to create a positive work environment. Ensure STGi and VA policies and procedures related to CBOC operations are implemented and enforced. Ensure compliance with all state and federal statutes and regulations (e.g., OSHA, CDC, Joint Commission). Ensure compliance with contract performance measures. Ensure all staff complete encounter forms on the day of the patient visit, or no later than 24 hours after. Demonstrate fiscal responsibility in CBOC management (e.g., prudent use of supplies/equipment, minimal overtime). Use appropriate communication methods with staff, STGi, VAMC, and subcontractors. Maintain readiness for announced or unannounced inspections/surveys (e.g., Joint Commission, VAMC EOC). Work under direct supervision of a Physician for clinical practice within applicable guidelines. Provide primary and preventive medical care within the scope of current CPT codes and trained capabilities. Provide medical patient care within the standards of practice established by a credentialing organization for Registered Nurses and within state practice acts. Emphasize wellness, prevention, and early detection. Supervise support staff in delivery of care to patients. Review PACT metrics and safety-related clinic drills. Ensure privacy, HIPAA compliance, and safety regulations within the clinic. Implement and monitor day-to-day program operations and modifications. Monitor patient flow, patient satisfaction, and wait times; oversee scheduling and patient access activities. Manage daily staff performance and coordinate monthly staff meetings. Provide counseling support to staff in collaboration with STGi Program Manager and Human Resources. Maintain universal precautions and infection control practices. Ensure smooth and timely flow of patients in alignment with VA access standards and triage protocols. Provide CPR and assist during respiratory and cardiac emergencies as needed. Set up and operate therapeutic and emergency equipment (monitor, EKG, oxygen, AED, portable suction). Assist CBOC staff to ensure patient information is complete and accurate in access/wait time documentation and electronic encounter records. Comply with federal, state, local, Joint Commission, OSHA, VA, and subcontractor safety and operational regulations, directives, and standards. Participate in ongoing Performance Improvement and Quality initiatives with STGi and VAMC. Participate in staff development programs, Performance Excellence, and Peer Review. Perform administrative and clerical duties under supervision of the Primary Care Provider and STGi Program Manager. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and ensure privacy, rights, and safety. Act as a liaison for the Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) and perform other related duties as assigned. Required Skills Exceptional diplomatic communication skills and experience handling difficult customer situations. Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail. Proven track record in advanced high-level customer service and follow-through is a plus. Positive, professional team player. Current RN state license preferred; compliance with state requirements and regulations preferred. Possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience with electronic medical records systems. Required Experience Minimum of two years of experience as a clinic manager in related patient care areas (e.g., Family Practice/Adult Practice/Women’s Health). Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN or Bachelor of Management in Healthcare Administration preferred. Working Conditions/Physical Requirements Moderate physical activity; ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods. Work is normally performed in an interior/office environment. Must be able to respond to medical emergencies within the clinic as needed.
