Maintenance Manager

ROLE PURPOSE / POSITION SUMMARY

The Maintenance Manager leads the Maintenance Department, ensuring the facility and all production equipment operate safely within designed specifications while pursuing maximum efficiency. This role serves as the link between operations and engineering to develop plant growth and process improvement, staying abreast of the latest innovation and technology. KEY ACCOUNTABILITY / PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide leadership and direction in safety, GMPs, sanitation, quality, food safety, customer service, and preventative maintenance. Develop the department’s long‑term goals and support the company’s short‑ and long‑term strategic plans. Create a positive working environment that supports continuous improvement, employee empowerment, problem‑solving, and technical knowledge growth, while reinforcing company philosophy and policies with respect for all associates. Facilitate communication between the maintenance department and other plant/corporate departments. Ensure all plant equipment, building, and policies comply with federal, state, and city regulations (OSHA, EPA, building codes). Search for and implement solutions that improve equipment efficiency, change‑over, and associate safety. Develop and maintain plant maintenance budgets, including annual capital expenditures, and manage equipment/building inventory parts via the MRP system using EOQ strategies. Expand vendor and contractor relationships, emphasizing quality, reliability, and competitive pricing. Verify and approve Accounts Payable items, ensuring authorized purchasing, proper documentation, and correct GL coding. Maintain continuous communication with all departments to align production priorities and address shortfalls promptly, avoiding impact on customer service. Prioritize food‑safety maintenance items. Ensure mechanics follow GMPs to guarantee food safety.
