Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized perioperative nursing care in a Level II Trauma Center and outpatient surgery setting. Assist with patient preparation, surgical procedures, and post-operative care, ensuring safety and compliance with clinical standards. Flexibility to float to the main OR as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and deliver nursing care for surgical patients in both outpatient and trauma settings.
• Prepare operating rooms and assist surgical teams during procedures.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond promptly to changes in clinical status.
• Document patient care accurately in EPIC and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
• Support patient education regarding pre- and post-operative instructions.
• Float to main OR when required, maintaining high standards of patient safety and care.

Qualifications:

• Hold current licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing.
• Possess at least 2 years of recent OR nursing experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency with EPIC electronic health record systems.
• Maintain current BLS certification; ACLS and PALS preferred.
• Be adaptable to day shifts and some weekend work.
• Successful completion of previous travel assignments is a plus.
