About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year Medical/Surgical experience required License: Valid RN license required Certifications: BLS required and must not expire within 30 days of start Must-Have: - EPIC experience required - Charge experience preferred - Ability to float within scope of care/practice Description: 3x12-hour shifts from 18:00 to 06:30. Valid RN license required. BLS certification required and must not expire within 30 days of start. Minimum of 1 year experience in Medical/Surgical nursing is necessary. EPIC experience is required. The focus will be on Orthopedic diagnoses with medical overflow. Floating within the scope of care/practice is required. Full contract length is required. No local candidates will be accepted. Patients will have a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6. Travelers may be asked to float to a sister facility 25 minutes away. Daily patient census is approximately 40. The unit supports interdisciplinary services including IV teams, Physical Therapy, and Respiratory Services. Common patient diagnoses include orthopedic and medical overflow cases. Special procedures performed include elective surgeries for hips, knees, shoulders, and spine. No titrating drips except for heparin are used in this unit. Must be able to manage blood product administration, isolation precautions, and wound care. Skills required include peripheral line care, total joint replacement, and use of rapid response teams.
