Additional Information About The Role BJC is offering a Patient Care Tech (PCT) Academy! This is a paid 6‑week accelerated training program which combines classroom instruction, hands‑on skill labs and on‑the‑job training in a clinical practice. The training satisfies the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services requirements for Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP). Training Schedule Training will begin July 13th, 2026. Weeks 1‑3: M‑F: 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Weeks 4‑6: (3) 12‑hour clinical shifts. Interview Date We will be conducting interviews on June 12th. Eligibility for Current BJC Employees Current BJC employees must be in current position for 3 months to be eligible. Overview Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital is a designated critical access hospital committed to providing quality health care service to residents in Crawford, Franklin and Washington counties. The hospital has expanded services with a state‑of‑the‑art emergency department, modern childbirth center, critical care unit, multi‑room surgical suite, expanded cardiac rehab services, a cancer center, and a 22,500‑square‑foot medical office building with space for primary care physicians and specialists. It operates four rural health clinics, a comprehensive Therapy and Rehabilitation department, and an award‑winning Wound Care Center with two hyperbaric chambers. The Medical/Surgical Department is a 34‑bed general medical, surgical and telemetry unit that provides comprehensive biopsychosocial nursing to patients requiring general medical, pre‑ and post‑operative care, urology, cardiac and pediatric care. Role Purpose Provides direct patient care to support the licensed professional nurses responsible for a team of patients to ensure a safe environment for patients by reducing risk of harm. Collects vital information on the patient and reports such to the nursing team, which contributes to the overall assessment of each patient and any changes to a patient’s condition. Responsibilities Implements direct patient care under the supervision of the nurse, promoting patient and family‑centered care in a healing environment. Administers or assists patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), performs vital signs, intake & output, fall and pressure ulcer prevention measures, urinary catheter care, phlebotomy, or point‑of‑care testing as requested. Collects clinical data and information on patients, and reports changes in patient status to the nurse. Assists nurse with patient and family education. Documents all patient care activities with correct medical terminology. Acts as 1:1 patient safety sitter when necessary. Ensures availability of supplies and equipment to meet each patient’s needs. Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance and engages in professional development. Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or GED. Experience No Experience. Supervisor Experience No Experience. Preferred Requirements Certified Nurse Assistant.
