Site Coordinator - Palmdale School District School Year 2025-2026

Position Site Coordinator (Part-time, Seasonal, 20-30 hours/week) Location Various School Sites Within Palmdale School District Hourly Pay $20.75 (may vary based on qualifications/availability) Start and End Date July 22, 2025 to June 5, 2026 Primary Function Directly responsible for the delivery and quality of outcome-based programs and activities at a specific club site. Provides mentorship and engages youth members in activities and programs, enabling them to develop self-confidence and reach their full potential as productive, responsible, caring citizens. Directs the planning, implementation and tracking of National Club Programs and grant-funded programs that will positively impact youth members while maintaining a safe, positive environment at all times. Key Roles (Essential Job Responsibilities) Plan and oversee the implementation of designated site programs and activities that support youth development outcomes. Establish and maintain site program goals and settings that ensure the health and safety of members. Ensure that site staff understand and effectively communicate program standards; that they maintain safe program areas and keep school and site equipment in good working condition. Continuously evaluate site programs and ensure they respond to member needs and address gender and cultural diversity. Allocate and monitor work assigned to volunteers and staff, providing ongoing feedback and regular appraisal. Identify and support training and development opportunities for assigned volunteers and staff. Oversee all site record keeping and grant reporting and compliance, including activity and event details, daily participation figures, notable achievements, and any problems or issues. Maintain a 20:1 member/staff ratio for 1st grade and up and a 10:1 ratio for TK/K members at all times. Ensure productive and effective performance by all program staff and volunteers. Increase visibility of site programs via daily schedule postings, announcements of upcoming events, and timely advertising and promotion through mailings, flyers, and media releases. Develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with parents, members, school staff, and the broader school community. Professional Standards 1. Leadership Develop commitment from members to ensure active participation in programs and activities. Empower members to be leaders through positive role modeling. Facilitate grant-required activities and national program activities in areas such as Character & Leadership, Education & Career Development, Health & Life Skills, The Arts, and Sports, Fitness, & Recreation. Provide recognition to members through positive validations, healthy incentives, and affirmation on a regular basis. Exemplify a team-building mentality in all work performed. Positively influence and uplift members and other affiliates. Ensure productive and effective performance by all program staff and volunteers. 2. Manage & Develop Resources Plan monthly programs to ensure preparation and successful execution. Attend and participate in staff training sessions, which are essential to professional development. Follow all policies and procedures at all times, including the club’s code of conduct found in the employee handbook. Maintain case management files and other grant-related paperwork and submit them in a timely manner. Maintain organization and cleanliness of the club site with high regard for school property. 3. Communication Inform important and relevant information in staff meetings and to members, parents, co-workers, unit supervisor, and other Boys & Girls Club affiliates. Listen to co-workers, parents, youth members, the community, and other affiliates while maintaining a professional relationship and positive representation of the club at all times. Present important and relevant information and/or presentations through program facilitation, staff meetings, trainings, and club events. Write and compose clear, concise, accurate written documentation and data reports. 4. Supervision & Safety Supervise up to 20 youth and keep members engaged and safe during program time. Ensure safety standards are met by all site staff at all times. Provide sound and reasonable discipline to youth members at necessary times through written documentation (e.g., behavior acknowledgment) and/or parent phone calls. Practice constant awareness of safe practices such as crisis management, emergency preparedness, CPR and first aid. Maintain a clean and orderly workspace at all times. 5. Other Duties as Necessary Additional duties may be assigned as required to support club operations. Qualifications 1. Expectations Must be at least 18 years of age and have valid identification. Work experience with a Boys & Girls Club or other youth-serving organization. Must have reliable transportation and the ability to get to and from work at scheduled times. Must be available for overtime when required, which may extend your workday and may include Saturdays as needed. Must operate a personal or club vehicle and maintain a valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record; employees must remain insurable at all times. Eligible for mileage reimbursement for travel between sites. Must possess CPR/First Aid certification on employment (adult, child, infant preferred; in-person training only). Ability to organize, supervise, and enforce positive behavior among members. Must pass a background check, TB test, and drug test. Must obtain Serve Safe certification as applicable to the site(s). 2. Education & Skills High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university or BA/BS preferred. Instructional aide qualification (paraprofessional test required). Enthusiasm and patience for working with children and a passion for education. Meet staff training requirements. 3. Physical Requirements & Work Environment Maintain a high energy level and positive representation. Be comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities. Must be able to work in loud environments and communicate clearly. Stand for four or more hours per day. Stoop, bend, climb, and walk frequently. Lift up to 40 pounds.
