Teller Position Responsibilities The purpose of the Teller position is to provide accurate and efficient processing of members' financial transactions to ensure high levels of member satisfaction and to maintain accurate record keeping of member accounts. This role contributes to sales goal attainment for department and organization goals, primarily by identifying members' product and service needs. Learned established processes and procedures provide a prescribed list of solutions for any member issues encountered. With no budgetary responsibilities, this role provides banking services, facilitates member transactions, promotes Members 1st and its services/customer service and supports general branch office operations and processing. This position has moderate supervision of work and conducts various member account transactions, educates members on Credit Union products and Services, performs balancing procedures and end of day procedures. Skills: Decision making requires the ability to choose from options outlined in established procedures Normal courtesy and tact Good communication and interpersonal skills Thorough knowledge of credit union products, services, policies and procedures Familiarity with PCs and applicable software Preferences: None Core competencies: Effective knowledge Accountability and self-management Teamwork and leadership Communication Innovation and problem-solving Working conditions/physical demands: Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing Ability to receive information and hear sounds at normal speaking levels under normal conditions in the branch Visually able to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading Sufficient manual skill for operation of PC keyboard and other standard office equipment. Ability to stand or sit for extended time periods Ability to work extended evening and weekend hours and to travel to other locations to provide extended hours coverage Ability to exert minimum amounts of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects Qualifications Requirements to be considered for Teller I Level: 0-1 year of progressive retail financial or customer service experience Requirements to be considered for Teller III Level: Minimum of 3 years of retail banking or credit union experience including cash handling, customer service experience, and an understanding of financial services regulatory policies and compliance Minimum of 2 years of financial experience identifying and promoting products and services to meet member/customer needs Does this position require a valid Drivers License? This figure serves as the entry point in our salary range, and there is potential for the actual salary to be higher based on a variety of factors, such as your experience, skills, education, and location. We believe in recognizing and rewarding talent, so our compensation packages are thoughtfully designed to reflect the unique qualifications and contributions of each candidate. The minimum salary for this position is: $17.50+/hr
