Office Services Specialist - Part Time Part-time, Regular VA - Alexandria, Alexandria, VA, US 2 days ago Requisition ID: 1160 Salary Range: $18.00 To $18.00 Hourly General Description This is a part time role working 30 hours a week and is an in-person role only. The primary role of an Office Services Specialist is to process and distribute incoming mailto employees in a professional setting. They sort mail by hand or might use sorting machines. The Office Services Specialist also delivers messages and packages from one department or individual to another within an office while maintaining inventory of shipping and mailing supplies. In addition, the Office Services Specialist handles all outgoing packages; they package items, ensure proper labeling, and arrange pickup from the post office, UPS, FedEx, or other carriers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sort and Distribute Mail The main responsibility of the Office Services Specialist is to sort incoming mail and distribute to departments. The Office Services Specialist might use a computer or automated system to sort mail and track its delivery. Manage Inventory of Shipping Supplies Maintain an adequate supply of shipping materials, such as boxes, tape, and labels. They might utilize a computerized inventory system to manage the inventory of these items and re-order materials as needed to keep the required number of supplies on hand. Handle Outgoing Packages Responsible for incoming mail butoutgoing packages as well. They pick up outgoing mail from departments and prepare packages for shipment. Choose the best methods for shipment, box, and label packages, and plan with carriers for pick up times.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or equivalent

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Demonstrate strong communication,organizational, and customer service skills Should be detail-oriented multi-tasker who is able to stand and carry packages for long periods of time.
