Dialysis Technician

Provide direct one-on-one patient care during dialysis treatment Care for up to 4–5 patients at a time Prepare the water room and bicarb for patients Test water for chlorine and check tool calibration Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment Measure and record patient statistics and observations Set up hemodialysis machines Educate patients on kidney dialysis-related topics Build long-term relationships with patients receiving treatment for end-stage renal disease Work under the supervision of an RN Collaborate with technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers, and leadership Work four 8-hour shifts after training, split between Summit Renal and Boettler/Green Dialysis, with possible 12-hour shifts based on patient census Work 3–4 days per week, including at least two Saturdays per month Participate in continuous improvement of patient and teammate processes Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Must be comfortable working around blood and needles Must be comfortable mixing acid or bicarb Flexible schedule and availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays Physical and mental ability to work long hours, including some 12+ hour shifts, on your feet Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed Ability to lift 5 to 50 pounds unassisted Ability to perform repetitive standing, sitting, stooping, walking, stretching, reaching, and use full range of body motions Ability to interact clearly and efficiently in person and by phone Ability to use computers and peripherals as needed Health care experience preferred, including BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in providing direct patient care during dialysis treatment, including monitoring patient statistics and educating patients on kidney dialysis-related topics.
