Bus Aide

Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to assist with the safe transportation of students to and from school. The ideal candidate will provide support to the bus driver and ensure a positive and secure environment for all passengers. This part-time position is located at the Bus Garage and involves working during school hours. Responsibilities Assist the bus driver in ensuring the safe boarding and disembarking of students. Monitor student behavior on the bus to maintain a safe and respectful environment. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding any issues or concerns. Conduct safety checks of the bus before and after routes. Report any incidents or emergencies to the bus driver and appropriate authorities. Help maintain cleanliness and organization of the bus interior. Attend training sessions and meetings as required. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience working with children or in a similar role preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations. Must pass a background check and drug screening. Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and late afternoons. CPR and First Aid certification is a plus but not required.
