Position Overview

The Project Engineer will support the Project Manager with the coordination and administration of commercial construction projects. This role will be responsible for project documentation, RFIs, submittals, procurement tracking, change orders, scheduling, and project closeout.

Key Responsibilities

• Review construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Prepare, submit, and track RFIs and maintain the RFI log.
• Manage submittals and maintain accurate submittal logs.
• Maintain project documentation and ensure current drawings, RFIs, checklists, and other records are uploaded to the project management system.
• Track material procurement, deliveries, and procurement logs.
• Assist with project startup and establish project documentation and controls.
• Assist the Project Manager with subcontractor coordination and change orders.
• Assist with developing project budgets and maintaining cost information using established cost codes.
• Support development and maintenance of project schedules and schedule updates.
• Prepare project closeout documentation, including warranties, as-builts, and related records.
• Assist with implementing project closeout procedures.
• Follow project and company safety requirements.
• Perform additional project-related duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; equivalent construction experience may be considered.
• 3+ years of experience in construction project engineering, project coordination, or related construction management.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Experience with Procore or similar construction project management software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Office 365.
• Experience with construction estimating or accounting software such as Accubid, Spectrum, or comparable systems is a plus.
• Ability to work in both office and jobsite environments.
