About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years of PCU/stepdown/ICU experience required. Previous travel experience preferred. License: Valid SC License required. Certifications: ACLS required. BLS required. NIHSS required. Must-Have: Must be comfortable floating frequently between PCU and ICU units. Must not live within 50 miles of the facility. Description: This is a Stepdown role that frequently floats to ICU and Medical-Surgical units. Must be comfortable working in both Stepdown and ICU environments. Patient ratios in Stepdown are 1:4-5. Patient ratios in ICU are 1:2. Patient ratios in Medical-Surgical units are 1:5-6. Floating between multiple units is required. Ratios and floating policies comply with current standards of the Joint Commission. The unit engages in various procedures, including post-catheterization and cardiac care. Daily census is approximately 17 patients. Common patient diagnoses include CHF, COPD, respiratory failure, and post-cardiac procedures. Staff may be required to work holidays and weekends as part of the rotation. Experience with charting systems is preferred. Familiarity with specific skills, such as managing BiPAP, telemetry, and wound care, is important. High P/C ratios necessitate flexibility and adaptability in clinical settings.
